Mountain Valley Treatment Center (Pike)
Mountain Valley Treatment Center, with two New Hampshire locations offers an evidence-based, holistic approach to treating 13-20 year olds with anxiety, OCD and related disorders. A short term residential treatment program, serving male and female adolescents and emerging adults, 13 – 20 years old, from across the globe with debilitating anxiety and OCD. With a campus located near Hanover, NH and Dartmouth College, and one at the edge of the White Mountains in Pike, NH, provides a unique professional and treatment environment as well as an ideal locale to implement exposure exercises.
Mountain Valley adds clinically intensive CBT-based Exposure & Response Prevention within an experiential activity therapy program and mindfulness-based milieu. Our program was recently featured in the October 15, 2017 New York Times Magazine as well as other local and national media venues because of the great work we do.
Family involvement is crucial to our program model, and weekly sessions can be conducted face to face on-site, by conference call, or through VSee. The program is designed to assist families to understand anxiety and OCD, communicate with greater effectiveness, and participate in relapse prevention. Recognizing that medication can play an important role in the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders, on-site medication management is provided by a board-certified child & adolescent psychiatrist from Hanover Psychiatry, a program of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, to offer psychiatric services as well as comprehensive psychological assessments.
