I have been working as a licensed/board certified therapist for 26 years. I attended Columbia University for my graduate degree then pursued a three year post master’s certificate program in child and adolescent focused family therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. I have been working with children and anxiety since I began working but specifically with pediatric OCD over the past ten years.
Diversity Statement:
In Georgia there is definitely a need for Spanish speaking providers who have expertise in OCD. Over the last 20 years of living in Atlanta, I’ve worked with individuals from many different cultures and countries. I welcome the opportunity to do ERP in Spanish. I also minored in Italian and can «get by» quite well, if ever a need arises. Often its the parents who do not speak English but the child does. Either way, I am happy to help!
My main job at various different schools (from Lavelle School for the Blind in the Bronx, to schools in NJ) as well as ten years working with schools in Georgia has been in the role of a bilingual social worker and therapist. I specifically (and only) was assigned cases and clients who did not speak English. In my private practice, depending on the year, anywhere from 10% to 50% of my work is with families who need a Spanish speaking therapist.
