Ask the Experts: A panel of OCD and Anxiety Disorder Specialists

Join us for an evening of insight with a panel of mental health professionals. They will answer your questions and share their experience and wisdom in the field of OCD and anxiety.

Panelists:

Dr. Widge is a psychiatrist and biomedical engineer. Clinically, he provides brain stimulation treatments for mood, anxiety, and substance disorders. His research focuses on developing these treatments further, particularly the creation of new “closed loop” devices. Dr. Widge’s laboratory prototypes new stimulation paradigms and targets in rodent models, conducts clinical trials of these new technologies, and searches for biomarkers of illness and recovery to guide next-generation therapies.

Dr. Natasha Parekh is a licensed psychologist and founder of Novo Behavioral Health, a private practice that serves children, adolescents, and young adults with a range of mood, anxiety, and behavioral disorders. Dr. Parekh specializes primarily in treating OCD. Dr. Parekh has worked with a variety of obsessions including sexual, harm, religious, moral, suicidal, existential, and sexual orientation. She has particular interest in treating sufferers of “Pure O.”

Dr. Christopher Vye specializes in working with adults with anxiety problems including panic disorder, social anxiety, OCD, phobias, health anxiety, and generalized anxiety disorder. He has extensive experience in the assessment and psychological treatment. He co-founded Anxiety Treatment Resources in 1999, with Dr. Mary Cady. He lectures frequently on anxiety disorders and their treatment, and provides consultation to other psychologists.

Aneela Idnani is Cofounder & Marketing/Design Lead at HabitAware. HabitAware is a Minneapolis-based mental health tech startup and 2018 TIME Magazine Best Invention. HabitAware’s flagship product, Keen, is a smart bracelet designed to help people overcome body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRB). Having grown up with hair pulling disorder, Aneela is an outspoken mental health advocate, raising awareness of these very common yet unknown conditions.
