OCD & Hoarding Disorder Awareness Events

Presentations on OCD by Arif Khan, MD and Caroline Garry

Arif Khan, MD is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist and the Medical Director at the Northwest Clinical Research Center in Bellevue. Dr. Khan has been a Principal Investigator for over 600 clinical trials in psychopharmacology including the original clinical trials for Zoloft and Paxil for OCD. His research is in the understanding of psychiatric illnesses, the nature of medical treatments and the outcomes.

Caroline Garry is a Texan who finally found the Pacific Northwest in 2016. She is a business owner specializing in the intersection of brand and business strategy with an emphasis on customer experience, service design and systems thinking in health. Outside of work, Caroline is passionate about two things: being a mom, and advocacy. Caroline has lived with OCD for over two decades, and began telling her story in 2018.

Screening of the Documentary: “Beyond Hoarding: From Disaster to Recovery”

Beyond Hoarding presents a fresh look at hoarding through the stories of people caught in the destructive grip of this compulsion. Their experiences run the gamut from tragic death to courageous recovery. Top mental health experts share the latest insights into this psychiatric disorder which surprisingly affects millions.

Discussion following with two people who tell their stories in the documentary.
