Pocket theater—Storytelling
October 19, 2019 at 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm EDT
“My OCD” is a storytelling event to inspire, educate, spread hope and celebrate the incredible individuals who face Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) every day.
Who: My OCD will feature six cast members of the story telling group, “Maybe, Maybe Not,” all of whom have experiences with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. We will have a range of ages, all females, including girls, teenagers and adult women. My OCD will be moderated and produced by Drs. Shereen Morse and Stacy Shaw Welch.
What: My OCD will be a storytelling event. Each performer / presenter will share a personal story about OCD. Many of you will be familiar with The Moth events (https://themoth.org). Our event will be based on this format. We hope that stories will inspire others with OCD, educate, or simply provide an opportunity to celebrate the incredible people living with OCD.
Just imagine if you’d gotten to hear other people with OCD talk about what it is like and how they deal with it when you first got diagnosed, or even before you knew what is was. This doesn’t have to be a shameful, hidden struggle that happens alone or behind closed doors. Lets share some stories and make a positive impact in our community!
Ticket: $10 in advance, $14 at the door.
