SESSION V: Inhibitory Learning Theory In Exposure-Based Treatment Of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

1. Describe the inhibitory learning model of exposure therapy.
2. Explain the importance of fear-tolerance over habituation.
3. Identify methods of maximizing inhibitory learning during exposure therapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
SESSION VI: Disgust And Not Just Right Experiences In Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Presented by: Dean McKay, PhD
After this lecture, registrants will be able to:
1. Distinguish the sense of incompleteness in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) from harm avoidance and other traditional conceptualizations of the disorder.
2. Identify facets of disgust, and how these may impact symptoms of OCD.
3. Use the conceptualization for incompleteness and disgust in developing methods for exposure treatment for OCD.
