SUMMARY:Understanding OCD:  A Community Event
DESCRIPTION:The event will take place on Friday\, May 1\, 2026\, at the Kevin Brady Community Center at Grogan’s Mill Village Center\, intentionally scheduled to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month💙 Our hope is that timing will emphasize education and early intervention as part of broader efforts to improve mental health outcomes in The Woodlands\, TX and surrounding areas. \nA central goal of this event is to address the delays in accurate OCD diagnosis and access to evidence-based treatment\, which often result in prolonged distress\, misdiagnosis\, and avoidable impairment for individuals and families. By increasing accurate understanding of OCD among educators\, healthcare providers\, and community members\, this intervention aims to promote earlier identification\, appropriate referral\, and timely treatment.
