SUMMARY:Shelter From the Perfect Storm: OCD and Connection With Others
DESCRIPTION:Living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can feel like being trapped in a private\, perfect storm. It can profoundly impact many aspects of a person’s life\, including one’s ability to feel truly connected to others. In this free event\, Winnipeg OCD welcomes two experts to talk about this crucial but often-overlooked topic. Suitable for mental health care providers\, people with OCD\, and others affected by OCD. \nDr. Lindsay Woods\, Ph.D\, C. Psych\, will discuss experiences and realities of Indigenous clients and the implications for OCD\, from her perspective as a clinician with a mixed Indigenous/settler background. Zachary Moses\, a licensed clinical social worker in Massachusetts\, will provide insights into working with clients with OCD using Functional Analytic Psychotherapy\, a deeply interpersonal therapeutic modality. \nRegister for this free hybrid event at Eventbrite: https://bit.ly/487e8zz
