SUMMARY:Presentation on the Intersection of Religious Faith and OCD
DESCRIPTION:As part of its continuing Lecture Series\, OCD Connecticut is honored to host a virtual Zoom event featuring a presentation by Rev. Dr. Katie O’Dunne on Thursday\, March 19\, 2026\, at 7:00 pm. Katie will talk about a topic that sits at the heart of many individuals’ recovery journeys: The Intersection of Religious Faith and OCD. \nKatie founded and leads an inclusive virtual community for those navigating faith and OCD\, called Stick with the Ick (formerly Faith & Mental Health Integrative Services). The organization helps individuals with OCD and related disorders live into their faith traditions as they navigate evidence-based treatment. \nAn ordained minister in the United Church of Christ\, Katie spent 7 years as the Academy Chaplain and Chair of Religious Studies at Woodward Academy in Atlanta\, simultaneously consulting on interfaith programming nationwide. Drawing on this experience\, she educates clinicians and clergy\, promoting culturally responsive treatment across religious/spiritual traditions. \nKatie is a Lead Advocate for the IOCDF and leads the IOCDF Faith & OCD Action Council. She consults on Religion & OCD with OCDI Texas and received Vanderbilt’s Doctor of Ministry Award for Distinction in Integrative Care Practices. She is a frequent presenter at the IOCDF annual conferences and is the host of the Faith & OCD Roundtable series on IOCDF’s YouTube channel.

SUMMARY:Family and Loved One’s Online OCD Support Group!
DESCRIPTION:Chris Trondsen\, LMFT\, a clinician with OCD\, and his mom\, Liz Trondsen\, are excited to remind you about our April\, virtual\, free Family and Loved Ones OCD Support Group. It will be held this Saturday\, April 11 for two hours\, from 11 AM – 1 PM PST. This support group is every second Saturday of the month\, from 11am to 1pm Pacific time. This “Ask an Expert” panel features OCD therapist / specialist Kevin Foss\, MFT\, who runs the California OCD & Anxiety Treatment Center\, as well as hosts the “Fearcast” podcast. The panel will also feature psychiatrist Dr. Jennifer Siegel\, who owns a private practice and is an ivy-league trained clinician who also has seen patients right here at USC. Finally\, the panel also features our very own Liz Trondsen\, a mother of a son with OCD. Liz was crucial in helping her son recover and is both a board member of OCD Southern California and has co-facilitated this group for 13 years. \nFor the first half of the 2-hour support group\, these four experts have spent time evaluating their work and lives to highlight their top 5 pieces of wisdom to help your loved one get better. SUMMARY:Understanding OCD: A Community Event
DESCRIPTION:The event will take place on Friday\, May 1\, 2026\, at the Kevin Brady Community Center at Grogan’s Mill Village Center\, intentionally scheduled to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month💙 Our hope is that timing will emphasize education and early intervention as part of broader efforts to improve mental health outcomes in The Woodlands\, TX and surrounding areas. \nA central goal of this event is to address the delays in accurate OCD diagnosis and access to evidence-based treatment\, which often result in prolonged distress\, misdiagnosis\, and avoidable impairment for individuals and families. By increasing accurate understanding of OCD among educators\, healthcare providers\, and community members\, this intervention aims to promote earlier identification\, appropriate referral\, and timely treatment.

SUMMARY:Family and Loved One’s Online OCD Support Group! Free!
DESCRIPTION:Chris Trondsen\, LMFT\, a clinician with OCD\, and his mom\, Liz Trondsen\, are excited to remind you about our May\, virtual\, free Family and Loved Ones OCD Support Group. It will be held Saturday\, May 9\, for two hours\, from 11 AM – 1 PM PDT. This support group is every second Saturday of the month\, from 11am to 1pm Pacific Time. It is a free\, virtual support group available to anyone from anywhere! \nTo join the support group\, email info@ocdsocal.org and simply request the event’s Zoom link or for more information! \nOur guest for the Saturday\, May 9th\, Family and Loved Ones’ OCD Support Group is author\, speaker\, trainer\, and leader in the field\, C. Alec Pollard\, Ph.D. As group facilitators\, it is our mission to bring top-notch guests to each of our support groups to address different aspects of loving and supporting someone with OCD. The support group is 2 hours\, from 11am to 1pm Pacific Time\, and will start with our guest\, Dr. Alec Pollard\, discussing relevant information to attendees with a loved one suffering from OCD. The second half will feature a question-and-answer segment where attendees can ask live questions\, or ask them publicly or anonymously in the chat! Here is more information on the details to be discussed on May 9th\, as well as information on our guest speaker\, Dr. Pollard! \nWe often hear from attendees that they are struggling to get their loved one into OCD treatment\, either for the first time or to treatment after a previous negative experience with therapy. Alec will address this problem\, including ways to discuss treatment with your loved one\, how to reduce accommodations and enabling\, reducing home stress\, and ultimately\, what you\, the loved one\, can do to improve the situation even if your loved one is not involved in the treatment plan. \nAdditionally\, many of you have a loved one in OCD treatment\, yet they are falling short of hitting their treatment goals\, and it feels as if they are not giving their “all” in treatment. Alec Pollard\, Ph.D.\, will address potential treatment-interfering behaviors (TIBs) at play\, the role of supporters\, ways to help your loved one be more successful in treatment\, and\, ultimately\, how to address a loved one in treatment who is not experiencing much success. \nDr. Pollard will draw on both his clinical expertise and material from his popular book\, “When a Loved One Won’t Seek Mental Health Treatment.” You will learn ways to improve your family’s current situation\, even if your loved one is not in treatment or is not interested in collaborating if they are. This talk will be for family members\, loved ones\, spouses\, friends\, and anyone supporting a person in their life with OCD. People with OCD\, educators\, therapists\, and anyone interested in the material are welcome to join! \nAlec Pollard\, Ph.D.\, will then answer your questions during the Q&A before the group’s conclusion! \nWe will see you Saturday\, May 9th\, from 11 AM – 1 PM PDT! \nThe event is open to loved ones\, family members and spouses of someone with OCD\, as well as people with OCD—or anyone else interested. \nTo join the support group\, email info@ocdsocal.org and simply request the event’s Zoom link or for more information! \nFor more information on the support group\, including Dr. Pollard’s bio\, visit ocdsocal.org!
