A will or trust document provides a clear and specific understanding as to how you want to transfer your assets to the people you love and to those charitable organizations that you have supported during your lifetime. You can make a bequest in your will or living trust as your ultimate charitable gift to support the IOCDF. There is no immediate cost to you, you can change it at any time, and you will be making a critical impact on the IOCDF’s ability to serve the OCD community well into the future.

Here are some common and simple ways the IOCDF may be listed as a beneficiary:

  • Life insurance policies
  • Commercial annuities
  • Checking, savings or other financial accounts
  • Individual retirement accounts

Actions needed: Contact your bank, insurance company or retirement account holder and request a beneficiary designation form.
(For purposes of completing the form, our legal name is: International OCD Foundation, Inc., PO Box 961029 Boston, MA 02196. Tax identification number: 22-2894564)

You can also leave a gift in your will or living trust (also known as a charitable bequest). Suggested language for this would be:

I give to the International OCD Foundation, Inc., currently located at PO Box 961029 Boston, MA 02196 _______________(insert specific dollar amount or percentage) in support of its full mission. Federal tax identification number: 22-2894564.

There are a number of additional options as well, including donating securities or through an IRA, charitable gift annuities, and charitable remainder unitrusts. Do you happen to have a financial advisor? If so, they might have some suggestions about what may be best for you.

To notify the IOCDF of your intent to include us in your estate plan or to request further information about planned giving opportunities, please contact Kristen Lynch, Senior Development Officer at klynch@iocdf.org or by calling 617-973-5801.
