Carissa Cerda, PhD

Dr. Cerda specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families. A developmental framework guides her in her work with children and adolescents. She takes a research-informed, integrative approach to therapy, which allows her to tailor therapeutic services to the unique needs of each individual child and family. Dr. Cerda is committed to collaboration and works closely with parents, teachers, and other treatment providers.

Dr. Cerda is a licensed psychologist specializing in evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents experiencing OCD and anxiety. She earned her Bachelor of Arts, Master of Education, and Doctorate degrees from Texas A&M University. She completed an APA-accredited internship at the Texas Child Study Center and Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas. Dr. Cerda received training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (T-F CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and parent child interaction therapy (PCIT). She also completed training in CBT for pediatric OCD through a partnership between the IOCDF and Massachusetts General Hospital’s Psychiatry Academy.
