Narrative of Services:
The treatment of OCD using Exposure and Response Prevention makes up a very large part of my practice. I use the outpatient protocol outlined in the Foa et al. (2012) treatment guide and typically meet with clients once per week for 90-minute sessions. As part of this treatment, I regularly conduct home visits and in vivo exposures outside of the office to help clients confront and overcome their symptoms.
I was first introduced to Exposure and Response Prevention treatment (EX/RP) for OCD as a graduate student at the University of Virginia over 10 years ago. I have used the treatment as much as possible/appropriate since that time. My interest in specializing in this treatment was sharpened during an EX/RP training workshop that I attended at the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania.
