Julie Golovcsenko, PhD
Narrative of Services:
Westchester Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a private psychology practice specializing in CBT. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and work collaboratively with my patients to help them make positive changes in their lives. Using specific techniques, I provide treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and families for a range of problems. I primarily treat patients with anxiety disorders, especially OCD and OC Related Disorders, GAD, and Specific Phobias.
I received my PhD in clinical psychology from Yale where I trained in CBT and practiced in the Anxiety Disorder Clinic learning assessment and treatment protocols for treating OCD and other anxiety disorders. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the NYU Child Study Center, New York University Medical Center, and at Bellevue Hospital. While at the Anxiety Disorder Clinic at the Child Study Center, I presented a treatment case at Grand Rounds of an adolescent with severe OCD. During my post-doctoral fellowship at the American Institute for Cognitive Therapy in Manhattan, I had a large caseload with at least 50% of the patients manifesting with OCD symptoms. I have continued to work with adults and children with OCD during my private practice years- first at Manhattan Cognitive Behavioral Associates, which I co-founded, and then at Westchester Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which I founded upon moving to Westchester, New York. In addition, I supervise other professionals on their OCD cases.
