Diana Heart Ikeda, PhD
Narrative of Services:
I specialize in CBT of children, teens, and adults with anxiety. About 60% of my practice is devoted to treating patients with OCD, OCD traits/symptoms like Asperger’s, NVLD, eating disorders, perectionism, hoarding, or OCD related problems like trichotillomania. I have treated over 100 people with obsessive compulsive issues using cognitive restructuring, prolonged exposure and response prevention, self-coaching, mindfulness, guided imagery, and relaxation strategies. I am able to structure treatment to meet the needs of the individual. I always provide education and support to family members in order to enhance understanding of their loved one’s problems to enhance treatment response.
I received my Ph.D. from Binghamton University in 1993, did my clinical residency at Tufts University School of Medicine/Boston V Medical Centers 1991-1992, completed a fellowship at the Center for Anxiety Disorders, Medical College of PA 1992-1993, and was the Director, Women’s Stress Disorder Treatment Team, National Center for PTSD, Boston VA Medical Center 1993-1997. I worked as an OCD/trichtillomania protocol therapist and evaluator on several NIMH grants at the Medical College of PA. I am a former Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Tufts/Boston Schools of Medicine and presented over 70 scientific papers and workshops at national conferences.
