Johanna S Kaplan, PhD
Director, Washington Anxiety Center of Capitol Hill
Narrative of Services:
Created and developed an outpatient, evidence-based treatment clinic (cognitive-behaviorally-oriented) for children, adolescents, families, adults, and older adults with anxiety and depressive disorders. Delivered treatment in individual, group, family, and intensive formats. 30% of our patients have OCD or OCD spectrum disorders.
My training began at NIMH in the Mood and Anxiety program in 2002. Since then my clinical and research efforts have focused on the treatment of anxiety in children, adolescents and adults. I have worked at the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington (under the supervision of Charles Mansueto, Ph.D), Institute of Living/Anxiety Disorders Center (under the supervision of David Tolin, Ph.D) and currently I have five psychologists working for me as the Director and CEO of The Washington Anxiety Center of Capitol Hill. We deliver outpatient, cognitive behavioral treatment (gradual exposure therapy/ ERP) to children, adolescents and adults.
Diversity Statement: Our practice is located on Capitol Hill. We have experience working with LGBTQ populations with anxiety and patients with a diverse ethnic background.
