Narrative of Services:
Using a CBT framework I conduct a careful assessment to determine the degree of interference from OCD-type habits. I educate the client about what the diagnosis means, how OCD can manifest in a person’s life, and the various treatment options. Depending on the case, OCD becomes the focus of our treatment or a secondary element. I estimate that approximately half of my client base has some degree of OCD, enough to warrant a serious discussion about it.
I was introduced to OCD through course work in graduate school. During my 20+ years in practice I have worked with hundreds OCD patients. I regularly attend several continuing education classes, and engage in private study.
