Narrative of Services:

Our practice sees adults, adolescents, and children with a variety of mental health challenges. We are well know for our psychopharmacology and therapeutic approach to Anxiety and OCD related issues. The therapists in the group, Theresa Shank, Ph.D., and Magda Rodriguez Psy.D., treat mostly Anxiety and OCD patients and are well known in those circles.

Targeted issues for Dr. Labellarte’s expertise include medication responsive psychiatric disorders (e.g. ADHD, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, OCD, and Tourette’s disorder), behavior disorders, academic and school-liaison difficulties, and consultation on forensic cases involving hardship due to immigration or hardship due to divorce. He is experienced in serving patients who often require complicated treatment combinations and collaboration with other treatment providers.

Training Description:

Dr. Labellarte trained as a Clinical Fellow in child and adolescent psychiatry and served as full-time faculty until 2002. While a full-time faculty member at Hopkins, Dr. Labellarte worked in pediatric psychopharmacology research. He worked directly with his with mentors on new research findings, including combined treatment approaches using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychopharmacology.

Dr. Labellarte has designed, conducted, analyzed, and written manuscripts on clinical studies related to pediatric psychopharmacology, involving preschoolers, school-age children, and adolescents. These studies included youngsters with ADHD, anxiety disorders, anxiety disorders plus ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and Tourette’s Disorder.
