Bruce Mansbridge, PhD
IOCDF Scientific Advisory Board Member
Narrative of Services:
I founded and for 12 years was Director of the Austin Center for the Treatment of OCD, which was rated as one the top ten OCD treatment centers in the world. I recently closed the Austin Center and am now semi-retired; I see clients 2-3 days a week and provide telephone consolations and therapy. I treat OCD and BDD. I do not treat hoarding or BFRBs (hairpulling, skinpicking).
I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Boston University in 1979 and have been licensed as a psychologist since 1980. I began treating people with OCD and BDD in the late 1980’s and started specializing in OCD and BDD around 1994. I have been listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology; past president of both the Connecticut Behavior Therapy Association and the Capital Area Psychological Association in Austin; Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychology at the University of Texas in Austin; and authored “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Obsessive-Compulsive Behavior”. I have been on the faculty of several of the IOCDF’s Behavior Therapy Training Institutes, teaching treatment professionals across the country how to treat OCD.
