Dr. Pence specializes in cognitive behavioral treatment of childhood and adult OCD, as well as other anxiety disorders in Michigan. Dr. Pence’s comprehensive treatment programs include a 2-hour medical diagnostic assessment, evidence-based treatment of CBT, exposure and response prevention (ERP), habit reversal training (HRT), cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, behavioral activation, and psychoeducation for families. Dr. Pence offers both weekly and intensive outpatient therapy. 95% of Dr. Pence’s patients have OCD and/or related anxiety disorders. Dr. Pence provides treatment for OCD, BDD, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Social Phobia,Trichotillomania, Excoriation Disorder,GAD, Depression, and Selective Mutism.
Dr. Pence has been treating patients with OCD for 17 yrs in the field of CBT. Dr. Pence opened a private practice and treats patients from the U.S. and other countries through his intensive outpatient programs. He completed a fellowship at the University of Florida where he focused on treating severe cases of OCD in the Department of Psychiatry and later joined the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida Rothman Center for Neuropsychiatry. At these programs, Dr. Pence supervised postdoctoral fellows, psychiatry residents, & graduate students and provided presentations in the Department of Psychiatry.
