Nicole Peters, CMHC
Narrative of Services:
A good portion of my clinical work has been in acute residential treatment for adolescents struggling with a myriad of co-morbid diagnoses including Trauma, Attachment Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety, OCD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Substance Abuse, Schizophrenia, suicidality, self-harm, etc., doing individual, group and family therapy. In private practice, I have and continue to treat adolescents and adults offering individual, group, family and skills-based classes treating diagnoses and including couples therapy. Over the years doing clinical work, my treatment of OCD clients has encompassed on average 20% to 30% of my clientele.
I also treat anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Training Description:
I have been treating OCD clients in a residential setting for approximately 8 and 1/2 to 9 years total and outpatient for approximately 5 years total. I received training through BTTI in 2015 and I am a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist who uses a great deal of CBT, ACT and ERP practices to help my clients overcome their OCD symptoms. Additionally, I am extensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and add DBT skills training to my other practices, which has proven to allow for greater levels of success with those I treat.
Diversity Statement:
I have worked with multi-cultural populations. I have received diversity and multi-cultural training on an average of once a quarter and through continuing education.
