Jean Ratner, LCSW-C
Narrative of Services:
I initially worked in mental health clinics and now am entirely in private practice. I specialize in treating panic disorder, phobias and OCD. Approximately 20% of my clients have OCD and 70% have phobias. While I have a background in psychodynamic psychotherapy which I use as appropriate, CBT is a mainstay in my work. In practice for over 40 years, have never kept numbers of clients treated; I might estimate that I’ve treated 700 or more for phobias and 200 for OCD– just a guess. I treat moderate but not severe hoarding (not when home condemned).
Workshops given by the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, supervision with a senior therapist in treating phobias and OCD, reading Edna Foa’s Stop Obsessing, Brain Lock, and New Harbinger publications Overcoming Obsessive Thoughts, Overcoming Compulsive Checking and Overcoming Compulsive Hoarding.
