George Samuels, MA, MSW, BCD
Narrative of Services:
I provide an integreation of cognitive behavioral, family, and play therapies to treat children's anxiety, phobias, fears, obsessions and compulsions, and attachment problems. I work with adolescents and adults, using cognitive behavioral, behavioral, and mindfulness therapies to treat anxiety, panic, phobias, obsessions and compulsions, depression, and stress related disorders. I have the pleasure of a varied practice; over half of my work is devoted to the treatment of anxiety disorders in children and adults, about a quarter is focused on helping couples and families improve their relationships, and the rest is spent helping children and adults with a variety of other problems.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, and a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. I have a Masters in Social Work from Boston University (1990), a Masters in Psychology from Boston University (1989), and a Masters in Sociology from Syracuse University (1983). I also completed training in family therapy at the Kantor Family Institute (1990), did post-graduate research on OCD at Boston University (1990-1991), and have continued training.
