Sean Sassano-Higgins, MD
Narrative of Services:
Dr. Sassano is a member of the Board of Directors of the Southern California Chapter of the International OCD Foundation. Dr. Sassano-Higgins provides medication management and psychotherapy for OCD and related disorders in a private outpatient practice. Dr. Sassano-Higgins has successfully treated several hundred patients with OCD and related disorders. Patients with OCD and related disorders comprise approximately 75 percent of the practice.
Dr. Sassano-Higgins has been treating OCD and related disorders since 2006. He supervises residents and social workers in cognitive behavioral therapy (including exposure and response prevention) and medication management for OCD and related disorders. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California psychiatry residency training program, and is the former medical and education director at USC. Dr. Sassano-Higgins received a scholarship from the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy for his work with psychotherapy and residents. He served as co-editor for a special OCD and related disorders edition of Focus: The American Psychiatric Association Journal of Lifelong Learning.
