Submit a Poster
The IOCDF is pleased to announce two unique poster session opportunities in July 2024! We invite researchers and students of all levels of experience to submit posters beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2024 for the following poster sessions in Orlando, Florida:
- IOCDF Research Symposium Poster Session (7/25/24) This poster session will take place as part of the annual IOCDF Research Symposium, a forum for researchers and students from around the world to share data and findings from the latest research in the OCD and related disorders fields, and an excellent networking opportunity for scientists. The Symposium will feature poster sessions that will be accessible online and in-person.
- IOCDF Researcher & Exhibitor Meet & Greet (7/27/24) Presenters at this poster session will have the opportunity to share their research with not only fellow researchers, but also clinicians, people with OCD, families, and all other attendees at the Annual OCD Conference. This is an opportunity to educate the wider OCD and related disorders community about your work!
Please note that presenters can present in either the Research Symposium Poster Session alone, or both the Symposium Poster Session and Researcher & Exhibitor Meet & Greet.
Poster Deadline
Research poster submissions will be accepted starting Tuesday, January 2, 2024, through Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Applicants can expect to receive notification in April 2024.

2024 Topic of Interest: Increasing Access to Treatment for All
Although evidence-based treatments such as ERP and medications can help reduce OCD symptoms, they are currently not accessible to all people with OCD. Factors such as distance from providers, cost, misinformation, and stigma prevent many people from underserved and minority communities from receiving effective and potentially life-saving treatments.
Recognizing this disparity and in alignment with our mission of help, healing, and hope — for all — we are proud to announce our 2024 Topic of Interest: Increasing Access to Treatment for All. We are particularly interested in posters related to improving access to treatment for underserved and underrepresented groups, such as rural communities, people with lower socioeconomic status, and racial, ethnic, and sexual minority groups.
We are issuing a special call for posters aligned with this Topic of Interest for the 2024 Research Symposium and Poster Sessions. However, suitable posters for other OCD and related disorders topics will also be considered.
Poster FAQ
How can I submit a poster? Submit your poster abstract at this page beginning Tuesday, January 3, 2024.
Who can submit a poster? Senior researchers, trainees, and students can submit posters. Multiple posters may be submitted if desired. If accepted, at least one author must be available to present the poster’s content and answer questions during poster sessions.
What if I can’t make it to the in-person events? We strongly encourage all poster presenters to attend the in-person poster sessions at the Symposium and Conference in July 2024; however, if you are unsure of your ability to attend these events, we still encourage you to submit a poster for the Symposium. The Symposium is a hybrid online/in-person event, and online attendees will be able to view posters and contact authors during an asynchronous poster session.

Can I submit a poster unrelated to the 2024 Topic of Interest? Yes. The 2024 Topic of Interest represents our “Special Call” category, but suitable posters for other topics in OCD and related disorders research will also be reviewed.
Poster Abstract Format
- Introduction/Background: a brief summary of relevant prior studies, statement of hypotheses tested in the study
- Methods: recruitment methods, dates of study, measures utilized with indications of validity, statistical methods
- Results: sample size, characteristics of the sample, means and standard deviations for important descriptive or outcome variables or change measures, correlation coefficients if calculated, confidence intervals, p values
- Discussion: implications of the findings for diagnosis, phenomenological understanding, treatment, pathophysiology, epidemiology, or other area that the research focused on
- Conclusions: outcome of hypothesis testing, suggestions for further research
Please note: Abstracts should not exceed 1,000 words, and literature reviews and case studies with (n=1) are not likely to be accepted unless space permits.
Poster Awards
IOCDF Student/Trainee Members who submit a poster for the Symposium or Conference will be eligible for one of three Conference Scholarships or one of two cash prizes for outstanding research posters, as judged by an expert panel. To qualify for an award, applicants must have a current IOCDF Student/Trainee membership at the time of the Symposium or Conference and be the lead author of a poster submitted for one or both poster sessions.
