Gabriela Huber LPC
Owner, Principal Therapist
I specialize in treating OCD and related disorders, anxiety, and phobias using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other cognitive approaches. I also support parents and caregivers of anxious children through methods such as Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), particularly for OCD, ARFID, and anxiety disorders. For parents of adult children experiencing Failure to Launch, I offer SPACE-FTL or the Family Wellbeing Approach.
I treat anxiety, depression, and trauma as co-occurring conditions, primarily using Metacognitive Therapy (MCT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My approach typically focuses on addressing OCD first, then integrating work on co-occurring issues later in treatment—unless trauma or depression are significantly interfering with progress, in which case they are addressed earlier or depending on severity clients will be referred out.
I have been treating individuals with OCD and related disorders for about 3 years. I received my initial training while working at an OCD-specialty clinic and have continued to expand my expertise through BTTI training, ongoing consultation with leading experts in the field. Additionally, I have completed advanced trainings through several recognized OCD training schools, such as OCD training School and CBI.
I have worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health clinics, treatment centers, intensive outpatient programs, and private OCD clinics. My experience includes treating individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, with a wide range of mental health diagnoses, and in both English and Spanish.
I bring experience working with people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and I strive to bridge neurocultural gaps— between neurotypical and neurodivergent family members.
I am committed to fostering inclusivity and cultural understanding in my clinical work. My experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, languages, and communities has deepened my appreciation for the unique challenges and strengths each person brings to therapy. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment where every client feels seen, respected, and supported in the context of their cultural and individual identity.
