Narrativa de Servicios:

My private practice, Steady Ground Therapy Associates, is a virtual, bilingual (English/Spanish) practice licensed in NJ and DC. My caseload consists of clients presenting with OCD treated using ACT and a relational, culturally-responsive lens. I have treated over many individuals with OCD and related conditions to date, with particular attention to Latinx communities where OCD is often misdiagnosed or under-treated. My caseload also includes people managing generalized anxiety, and depression, and additionally some couples work.

I will provide Superbills if you have Out-of-network coverage

Tratamiento de trastornos concomitantes:

My treatment structure integrates ACT within a relational frame. Early sessions focus on assessment, psychoeducation, and building the therapeutic alliance, establishing trust as the foundation for exposure work. I use ACT to build psychological flexibility: values clarification, defusion, and willingness to sit with uncertainty and discomfort. Throughout, I attend to relational patterns, how anxiety and compulsions show up in attachment, family, and cultural context, using the therapeutic relationship itself as a corrective experience. Sessions balance structured skill-building with space for emotional processing, always paced by client readiness.

Descripción de capacitación:

I have 7 years of experience in private practice treating clients with OCD integrating ACT-based approaches for psychological flexibility. My training includes graduate coursework in evidence-based anxiety treatment, supervised clinical practicum experience with OCD-presenting clients, and ongoing continuing education through OCD-focused workshops and trainings.

Declaración de diversidad:

As a bilingual (English/Spanish) Latina clinician, I bring lived cultural fluency to my work with multicultural populations, particularly Latinx clients navigating OCD and anxiety disorders. My practice serves english and Spanish-speaking and bicultural clients, addressing barriers such as stigma, familial expectations, and cultural misconceptions that often delay OCD diagnosis and treatment in Latinx communities. I incorporate culturally-attuned psychoeducation to increase OCD literacy. My clinical approach honors intersecting cultural, linguistic, and familial dynamics, tailoring ACT interventions to be relevant and accessible across diverse cultural backgrounds and identities.

I bring over 20 years of cross-cultural clinical experience, having served diverse student and family populations across public school districts. As a bilingual (English/Spanish) clinician and active member of the Association of Hispanic Mental Health Workers since 1997, I’ve developed sustained expertise in culturally-responsive care. My private practice serves clients across NJ, and DC, and I regularly train human service professionals statewide through Rutgers’ Institute for Families, incorporating culturally-attuned frameworks. This breadth of experience across urban, suburban, and multistate settings has deepened my ability to adapt evidence-based interventions to diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic contexts.
