Susanne Haase LMHC
I provide outpatient teletherapy using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to treat OCD. I incorporate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) into treatment plans as appropriate with a focus on mindfulness and emotion regulation. I have effectively treated hundreds of patients with very different OCD presentations who have vastly reduced their OCD symptoms, and currently, 90% of my patients are being treated for OCD. Services are provided in English, Spanish, and French.
I have been treating adults with OCD almost exclusively for 5 years. As an ERP clinician I provided individual and group therapy for 2 years in a PHP and IOP bilingual treatment facility specializing in OCD.I also was a therapist with the telehealth platform, NOCD, treating adults with OCD and related anxiety disorders. With a Masters in Mental Health Counseling, I maintain a private practice focused on outpatient therapy for persons with lower level of care needs or stepping down from more intensive treatment. I also provide support and guidance to family/loved ones of adults and children with OCD.
I have a multi-cultural background, which allows me a nuanced understanding of American, Latino, and European cultures. I have also worked extensively with the LGBTQ community and provide affirming and supportive therapy for this population.
I am personally half Latina, half European, raised in the United States with education from prime institutions (New York University, University of Miami). I have lived in Europe as an adult for 10 years as well. In addition, I have helped numerous clients from the LGBTQ community. My approach is affirming, supportive, and collaborative to help each client uncover and harness their own strengths.
