Become an IOCDF Youth Ambassador
We are looking for young people ages 12–17 who care about mental health and want to make a difference in how OCD and related disorders are understood. Whether you already speak up about mental health in your school or community, or you are simply passionate and looking for a place to start, we want to hear from you!
Young people have always been at the heart of meaningful change, and that includes our work at the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). As we look ahead, we are more committed than ever to centering youth voices in everything we do. We welcome applicants from across the United States and internationally, whether you are personally affected by OCD and related disorders or care about someone who is.
Our Youth Ambassadors will help shape youth-focused initiatives, programs, and campaigns that are central to our mission. This is an opportunity to be part of the IOCDF’s legacy and to represent our work in your community and beyond. We are especially focused on the experiences of young people ages 12–17, a time when OCD symptoms often emerge and when stigma can have a lasting impact.
We’re Looking for Young People Who:
- Are committed to raising awareness about OCD and related disorders
- Want to help break down stigma around mental health
- Have ideas for building community, online and offline
If this sounds like you, we invite you to apply by 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, November 29, 2026!
Program Overview
The IOCDF Youth Ambassador Program is an advocacy-focused program for youth ages 12–17, including siblings and teen supporters of children and adolescents with OCD and related disorders. The program follows a 2–3 year mentorship model with a flexible framework for participation, awarding certificates upon completion.
As a Youth Ambassador, you will have the opportunity to:
- Complete orientation and training
- Participate in advocacy activities that interest you
- Attend meetings with fellow ambassadors and IOCDF staff
- Earn community service hours
As you grow in the program, there will be opportunities to take on more leadership. In Year 2, you will become a Senior Ambassador, where you can mentor newer members, lead projects, and support recruitment. There is also a Youth Leadership Council for those who want to take on an even greater role in advising the IOCDF on youth initiatives.
Activities you can choose from include school presentations, social media campaigns, creating videos, writing, artwork, community events, mentoring, and helping us improve our youth resources.
