Comorbidities

This webinar discusses the recognition and treatment of comorbid OCD and major depressive disorder. It will discuss the diagnostic criteria for both disorders, as well as their prevalence in the mental health community. The webinar will focus on behavioral activation and exposure response prevention as the primary treatment for this comorbidity, along with specific actions that a therapist can prescribe to their patient.

Learning Objective 1: Attendees will be able to recognize symptoms of depression in individuals with OCD.

Learning Objective 2: Attendees will be able to identify when more targeted depression treatment may be needed in the context of OCD treatment.

Learning Objective 3: Attendees will be able to implement strategies for integrating behavioral activation and exposure and response prevention treatments, taking into account unique challenges when using these treatments together to address co-occurring OCD and depression.
