Narrative of Services:
I tailor my approach by integrating different psychotherapy modalities and prescribing medications as needed, fostering a supportive and collaborative patient-provider relationship aimed at helping individuals navigate and overcome challenges in their recovery. While I treat a wide spectrum of mental health conditions, my practice is particularly focused on severe anxiety disorders that lead to life-limiting avoidance behaviors. This includes conditions such as trauma, obsessions, tics, generalized anxiety, and anxiety related to physical symptoms.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
I treat Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder through a three stage model of treatment, using EMDR, AEDP, and interpersonal psychodynamic therapy. In many patients, OCD symptoms, skin picking, and body dysmorphic symptoms can be tracked back to the chronic traumatic experiences of the past.
Training Description:
I have been treating patient with severe mental illness, including severe OCD, for the past 5 years. In addition to the general psychiatry training at The Mount Sinai Hospital, I have trained at some of the most respected centers in the field, including Mount Sinai’s Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS), the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania (CTSA), and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD).
Diversity Statement:
I commonly work with neurodivergent clients, tailoring care to meet the emotional and psychological needs of individuals, honoring both their struggles and their strengths. My unwavering support for LGBTQ2SIA+ clients is grounded in a deep respect for each person’s unique story.
