Lavender House Counseling offers specialized in-person and virtual therapy for children, teens, and adults who are ready for more than just “talk therapy” as they learn to overcome anxiety disorders and OCD. We do that by providing our clients with education, tools to face anxiety instead of avoiding, collaboration with their support system when appropriate, and community education, workshops, and advocacy. I have been helping people who struggle with OCD and anxiety disorders learn to face their fears and reclaim their life for over 10 years. These clients make up 90% of my caseload.
In addition to using Exposure and Response Prevention Thearpy (ERPT), with co-occuring disorders I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In addition, I do have training in Behavioral Activation (BA) and arts-based therapy techniques.
I have completed over 50 hours of training in treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD through IOCDF’s on-demand webinars/conferences and Anxiety Training For Mental Health Professionals. Most of my training in the treatment of OCD and related disorders is in Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERPT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I stay up to date on research so I can offer education workshops at local churches as I work to build awareness in my local community.
