Narrative of Services:

I run a group counselling practice, Decipher Counselling Art Therapy Studio, specializing in creative modalities like Narrative therapy, EMDR, Art Therapy, SE, ERP and more. Most clients are BIPOC, LGBTQ2SAI+, and neurodivergent folks. There has been more disordered eating, body image, OCD, OCPD in my caseload in the past 3 years (~40%) which is why I am hoping to offer more specialized services and do more trainings in this area.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

When working with folks who deal with concurrent disorders, I have been trained in Art Therapy, SE, EMDR, Hakomi etc. and take from different therapeutic modalities that best fit with what sticks for them (eg. neurodivergent/audhd, I may work more with cross-cultural lens and narrative therapy in combination with CBT and ERP). It’s adaptive and person-centered.

Training Description:

I have been working as a registered clinical counsellor for the past 8 years, and have mostly worked with BIPOC, neurodivergent folks who struggle with identity, anxiety, body image/dysmorphia, ED/disordered eating and self-esteem, and complex PTSD. I have been listening and attend Kimberly Quinlan’s podcast and courses from https://www.cbtschool.com/. For the past 2 years, I have been attending NOCD trainings and events such as Fundamentals of Exposure-Based Therapy for OCD and Anxiety Disorders.

Diversity Statement:

My group practice offers counselling services specifically to underserved populations such as BIPOC, LGBTQ2SAI+, those who are neurodivergent (ADHD, ASD), and those who need counsellor with social justice, racial justice consciousness and intersectional awareness. The team is build from practicing cultural humility, anti-oppressive and liberation-oriented in values and care when working with folks. We reflect and have open discourse on power.

Most of the trainings I take since 2018 (graduation) have been through cultural competency (facilitators who are BIPOC, active in the social justice realm) such as Somatic abolitionism. I have facilitated anti-racist workshops during covid for people of colour teachers in the Vancouver and Toronto region. Here are trainings I’ve attended and some I’ve created/facilitated: https://deciphercounselling.com/linda-lin-training
