My practice focuses primarily on providing evidence-based treatment for OCD, anxiety disorders, and related conditions. I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing obsessions, intrusive thoughts, mental and behavioral compulsions, avoidance, panic, tics, body-focused repetitive behaviors, and ARFID. Treatment is individualized and may include Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), CBIT, and parent-based interventions. I provide weekly outpatient therapy and participate in individualized intensive treatment for clients requiring more frequent support. I also collaborate with families, schools, prescribers, and other treatment providers.
Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment of OCD symptoms, co-occurring conditions, functional impairment, risk, and the factors maintaining each concern. I collaborate with the client to prioritize treatment targets based on safety, severity, and readiness. ERP remains central when treating OCD, while CBT, ACT, DBT skills, behavioral activation, trauma-informed interventions, or parent-based strategies are integrated as clinically appropriate. Treatment may address conditions concurrently or sequentially, depending on how symptoms interact. Progress is monitored regularly, and the plan is adjusted as needed. With consent, I coordinate with family members, prescribers, schools, dietitians, and other providers to support consistent, comprehensive care.
I am an independently licensed clinical social worker with more than eight years of experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with OCD, anxiety disorders, and related conditions. My experience includes providing care within partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and specialty outpatient settings. I have completed specialized training and continuing education in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), and the treatment of mental compulsions and related disorders. I receive ongoing consultation through a specialty OCD and anxiety treatment center and regularly participate in collaborative treatment planning for complex and severe presentations.
I have experience working with clients from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, socioeconomic, and family backgrounds, as well as individuals with varied gender identities and sexual orientations. I strive to provide culturally responsive and affirming care by exploring how each client’s identities, values, family system, faith, and lived experiences influence their symptoms and treatment goals. I adapt interventions to the individual rather than assuming one approach fits everyone. When appropriate and with the client’s consent, I collaborate with family members, schools, religious leaders, medical professionals, and other support systems to provide coordinated and culturally sensitive care.
My graduate social work education included training in culturally responsive practice, social justice, and understanding how identity, family systems, community, and systemic barriers affect mental health. My professional experience in community mental health, veteran services, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and specialty outpatient settings has allowed me to work with clients from diverse racial, ethnic, religious, socioeconomic, gender, sexual-orientation, and family backgrounds. I continue developing cultural competency through continuing education, clinical consultation, self-reflection, and collaboration with clients and their support systems. I approach each client with cultural humility and adapt treatment to their individual identities, values, and lived experiences.
