Narrative of Services:

At Rising Tides Psychotherapy, approximately 60% of my active caseload involves OCD or related symptoms, and I have worked with over 100 individuals presenting with these concerns throughout my clinical career. I provide individualized treatment for children, adolescents, and adults, emphasizing the underlying processes of OCD rather than specific symptom themes. My approach incorporates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), CBT, ACT, and inference-based approaches. Services also include parent consultation, family involvement, and experiential and animal-assisted interventions when clinically appropriate. Treatment emphasizes reducing compulsive responses, increasing psychological flexibility, and supporting meaningful progress.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing OCD alongside co-occurring conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, eating disorders, and mood disorders. Treatment is individualized to consider how these conditions interact and influence daily functioning. I primarily integrate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and skills-based interventions. When appropriate, treatment also incorporates executive functioning support, emotional regulation, and family involvement. My approach emphasizes addressing OCD while remaining attentive to the broader clinical picture, adjusting interventions to meet each client’s developmental, emotional, and cognitive needs.

Training Description:

I attended the International OCD Foundation’s Pediatric Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI), receiving specialized instruction in cognitive behavioral therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for children and adolescents with OCD. My clinical experience includes treating OCD across childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, supported by additional continuing education and OCD-focused academic study. I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling and am pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychological Studies at Regent University. My doctoral research explores the psychological and spiritual experiences of individuals with OCD, including implications for clinical understanding and treatment.

Diversity Statement:

My clinical training and experience emphasize cultural humility, individualized care, and an understanding of how personal identity, family systems, cultural background, and spiritual beliefs influence mental health. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds and strive to approach each client’s experiences with curiosity, respect, and openness. My doctoral research further explores the intersection of religious beliefs and OCD, particularly how spiritual interpretations can influence symptom understanding and treatment-seeking. I recognize the importance of adapting evidence-based treatment to each individual’s values, developmental needs, and lived experiences.
