We are now only ten days away from the start of the 20th Annual OCD Conference in Atlanta!  Today is the last day of our 1993 Playlist countdown to help pick the songs for our Saturday Evening Social, and so far we have some interesting results in previous days’ polls:

Day 1 – Dance: “What is Love” (of Night at the Roxbury fame) is in the lead for dance, with “Rhythm is a Dancer” a close second.  If you haven’t voted yet for your favorite dance pick, vote here now.

Day 2 – Pop/Rock: “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers is way out in the lead.  I can already picture the sing-a-long that will take place on the dance floor! If you haven’t yet voted for your favorite pop/rock hit, vote here now.

Day 3 – Rap/Hip Hop: Unsurprisingly, “Whoomp! (There it is)” is ahead of the pack — this song was everywhere in 1993.  But “Mr. Wendel,” by Arrested Development, isn’t far behind. If you haven’t voted for your favorite rap song yet, vote here now.

Day 4 – Rock/Alternative: “Mr. Jones” is currently in the lead, but there is still plenty of time for others to pull ahead. Will it be Meat Loaf, Aerosmith, Gin Blossoms, or 4 Non-Blondes?? If you haven’t voted for your favorite alternative/rock hit, vote here now.

And now, for today’s selections, we’re slowing it down a bit. Today is all of those great soul/R&B ballads from the likes of Boyz II Men, Whitney, Prince, SWV, and a great cover by UB40.

As always, we’ve linked to Youtube videos below to help refresh your musical memories (parental guidance suggested).

Vote for your favorite slow song of 1993 now:

“In the Still of the Nite” by Boyz II Men

“Weak” by SWV

“I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston

“7” by Prince and the New Power Generation
No video available, you can hear the song on Spotify here. Or listen to a preview of the song on iTunes here (track 18).
