The 1 Million Steps 4 OCD Walk in Sacramento was a huge success! The dedicated effort and the generosity of more than 135 Walkers who came from all over Northern California to raise OCD Awareness and $15,000 for valuable IOCDF and OCD Sacramento programs that help people living with OCD and related disorders.
We are so very grateful to all who made this event a success.
We are grateful for the support of our generous Sponsors, without whom this event would not have been possible: Brooks Running, Sierra Printing & Office Supply, Anxiety Treatment Center of Sacramento, Eating Recovery Center of California, Xpedx, United Stationers, and Clif Bar.
We are grateful to our Grand Marshal, Jeff Bell, and walker Erik Duarte for sharing their personal stories and inspiring us to do more to help increase awareness and understanding. We are especially grateful to you and the OCD and related disorder community and all of your friends, family and colleagues who enthusiastically supported you and made this walk an overwhelming success.
So many other causes and charities have large, visible marches and walks and rallies, but it is rare when people with mental health issues have the same opportunities, due to so much stigma and misunderstanding. We are so honored and humbled to have been part of creating this event, and giving people the opportunity to come together, and find strength in each other.
I look forward to seeing you again next year! Let’s make #1Million4OCD a tradition for the Northern California community for years to come!
