As part of our Lecture Series, we hosted a range of engaging and educational events featuring leading voices in the OCD community.
On April 16th, we held a Zoom presentation with Tom Smalley, a national OCD advocate and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Tom spoke about the challenges of OCD in sports.
On May 21st, we hosted a Zoom event titled OCD Unfiltered featuring National OCD Advocate Kyle King and a panel of young adults with lived experience. They answered audience questions and offered authentic insights into life with OCD.
On June 3rd, Dr. Christopher Pittenger, Director of the Yale OCD Research Clinic, gave a lecture at Yale University. He provided a comprehensive overview of OCD, including standard treatment approaches and medications, while also highlighting emerging treatments like ketamine and psychedelics.
On June 18th, National OCD Advocate Ethan Smith led a Zoom discussion about the portrayal of OCD in the media.
Looking ahead, we plan to continue our Lecture Series in the Fall.
We’re also organizing in-person Meet and Greet events to raise OCD awareness, an OCD colloquium at Sacred Heart University on October 15th, and our One Million Steps for OCD Walk on October 18th at Jennings Beach.

It’s been another exciting season for OCD Central and South Florida!
On June 5th, we collaborated with OCD Texas to co-host an educational virtual CE event: OCD From a DEI Lens: Important Considerations when working with BIPOC clients. We extend a huge thank you to OCD Texas, and to our fantastic speakers, Drs. Darlene Davis Goodwine, Ogechi Cynthia Onyeka, & Marcia Rabinowits for discussing this valuable topic.
As we head into summer we can’t wait for the 30th Annual OCD Conference in Chicago. Please come to our booth at they affiliate event to say hello! We are always looking to expand our community and would love to connect.
We are also looking ahead to some fabulous events we have lined up for the rest of this year. This fall we will be holding our second Obsession art event, where we will exhibit and auction off pieces of art that represent artists’ experience with OCD. All proceeds go to supporting OCDCSFL. We are now accepting submissions!

This June, Courageous Campers returned to New Orleans for another unforgettable week of bravery, laughter, and growth! Hosted by OCD Louisiana and Rise Center for OCD and Anxiety, the camp brought together young adventurers ages 7 to 13 for five powerful days of facing fears, making friends, and building resilience. Thanks to our dedicated team and generous supporters, it was a huge success!
But the journey isn’t over — mark your calendars! Our annual One Million Steps for OCD Walk returns to New Orleans this fall. It's a day of hope, connection, and advocacy as we walk together to raise awareness and support for those affected by OCD. Stay tuned for more details soon!

OCD Pennsylvania continues to accomplish goals set for 2025. The first Annual Philadelphia OCD conference was held March 29th with sold out attendance (and waiting list). The conference was well received and planning for next year's conference has already begun. We continue to offer "Meet & Greets" across the state...great opportunity for individuals living with OCD to come together and share good conversation, food and drink. We have also started planning our walks which will occur in the fall.... Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Erie. In May we were a vendor at the NAMI walk in Montgomery County. It was a great way to let others know about our initiatives and resources as an IOCDF affiliate. We have been blessed with strong interest in board membership having a few new members added to our board of creative and enthusiastic individuals.
