Cascade Academy
Cascade Academy is licensed by the State of Utah as a 26-bed Residential Treatment Facility serving girls13-18 years old who struggle with severe anxiety, OCD and OCD related disorders. Cascade Academy’streatment approach utilizes traditional evidence-based treatment modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Individual, family, group and recreational therapy along with individualized, sequential exposures are a key component of their treatment. In addition to using evidence-based therapeutic approaches, Cascade Academy implements daily exercise, meditation and mindfulness, yoga, nutrition and service into their treatment plan. A focus on a healthy balance emotionally and socially, mentally, physically and spiritually is the core of their program.
1. Technology: Within the first few weeks students are given access to their technology. Email, texts and social media are all monitored to discover negative patterns and behaviors that may be exacerbating the student’s disorder.
2. No Blackout Period: Immediate, frequent contact with family as initiated by the student. This provides the student’s therapist valuable information as to the dynamics in the family and those interactions that may “trigger” the student.
3. No Level System: Because each treatment plan is individualized, progress through the program is unique to each student. As students challenge their comfort zones they navigate true to life experiences that prepare them for life after Cascade.
4. Home Practice: Once students graduate, they remain enrolled at Cascade Academy continuing individual, family therapy and Academic support.
