Maryland OCD and Anxiety Therapy
Maryland OCD & Anxiety Therapy (MOAT) opened in August of 2021 as a virtual only clinic during the pandemic. We now offer hybrid in-person and virtual outpatient therapy to adolescents (aged 13 years and older) and adults. We specialize in the treatment of OCD and anxiety, with all of our psychologists having extensive experience in providing exposure and response prevention (ERP). When clinically indicated and based on clinician availability, we are able to provide multiple sessions per week for an accelerated treatment program. Of note, we also maintain a graduate-level externship training program, for which we accept applications in December and January. Additionally, we have a psychodiagnostic assessment program for those seeking diagnostic clarity and/or a formal diagnostic report relevant to a variety of purposes (e.g., academic/professional accommodations). Our psychodiagnostic assessment services are offered to provide diagnostic clarity for a wide array of concerns and are not limited to just individuals with symptoms of OCD or anxiety.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
We certainly address a wide array of co-occurring issues, including, but not limited to, OCD-related disorders (e.g., BFRBs, BDD, and hoarding disorder), Anxiety Disorders, Major Depressive Disorder, trauma-related disorders (e.g., PTSD), and personality disorders. The treatment structure will vary based on each client’s needs and diagnostic profile, but all treatment approaches will be empirically supported for the treatment of the identified disorder.
Diversity Statement:
All staff members have taken graduate coursework in multicultural theory and application. Staff are expected to keep up with continuing education related to cultural competency/humility and therapeutic intervention for diverse client populations. We also engage in regular peer consultation with a multi-practice group of licensed psychologists to supplement this. We approach listening to our clients with humility, and we are dedicated to the life-long process of self-assessment, building awareness, and addressing our blind spots.
