Mountain Valley is a therapeutic residential program for adolescents and young adults who struggle with anxiety, OCD, and related disorders that interfere with daily life, school, and relationships. Guided by the belief that meaningful change happens through action, not avoidance, Mountain Valley helps young people build the courage and skills to move toward what matters most — a philosophy captured in the program’s guiding idea, Making Fear Less.
Treatment is highly individualized and grounded in evidence-based practices, including CBT, ACT, and ERP, delivered by a multidisciplinary team of licensed clinicians, medical providers, and experiential staff. Therapy extends beyond the office into real-world and outdoor experiences where residents practice facing fear, tolerating discomfort, and reclaiming independence in a supported, structured way.
Academic continuity is built into the model, allowing students to continue school while receiving intensive treatment. Families are actively involved through ongoing communication, family therapy, and coaching designed to reduce accommodation and support lasting change at home.
Mountain Valley offers a warm, relationship-driven community where young people are challenged and supported as they learn to engage with life more fully, confidently, and authentically.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
Mountain Valley treats co-occurring anxiety, OCD, depression, and ADHD within an integrated, primary-diagnosis model. Treatment is anchored in ERP, CBT, ACT, and exposure-based care, while mood, executive functioning, and social-emotional challenges are addressed concurrently through individual, group, family, and experiential therapies. Psychiatric care supports symptom stabilization without displacing behavioral work. The focus remains on reducing avoidance, increasing functional engagement, and helping young people build durable coping skills across settings.
