Narrative of Services:

Buckingham Psychiatry is a private-pay psychiatric practice in Doylestown, PA, with an office in Lambertville, NJ and telehealth throughout PA and NJ. Dr. Buinewicz provides diagnostic evaluations and evidence-based medication management for adults with OCD, including augmentation strategies for treatment-resistant cases. ERP is provided in-house by Sophie Buinewicz, PhD, a psychologist in our practice, allowing coordinated medication and exposure-based care. FDA-cleared BrainsWay Deep TMS for OCD is available through our affiliated interventional practice in the same building; TMS may be covered by insurance depending on the patient’s plan and treatment history.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I treat commonly co-occurring adult ADHD, depressive and bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders. Care is integrated under one prescriber: a single diagnostic evaluation followed by coordinated medication management, with attention to interactions and sequencing (e.g., stimulant treatment alongside OCD care, SSRI use in bipolar-spectrum illness). Deep TMS is available for major depressive disorder as well as OCD. I coordinate with patients’ therapists and, when indicated, refer to psychotherapy within our practice.

Training Description:

Double board-certified in General Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. MD from Sidney Kimmel Medical College; psychiatry residency and addiction psychiatry fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where I continue to supervise psychiatry residents. My clinical focus includes pharmacologic management of OCD and OCD spectrum disorders, including treatment-resistant presentations, and I provide BrainsWay Deep TMS (H7 coil) for OCD. I also serve as Medical Director of a community behavioral health agency in Bucks County.

Diversity Statement:

My training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia involved caring for patients across a wide range of racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. As Medical Director of a community behavioral health agency in Bucks County, I continue to serve community members with limited access to care. My addiction psychiatry background has shaped a nonjudgmental, stigma-conscious approach. Our practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I pay close attention to how identity, culture, faith, and family context shape how OCD presents, particularly scrupulosity and identity-related themes, so treatment fits the person rather than a template.
