OCD New Hampshire
OCD New Hampshire has partnered with Mountain Valley Treatment Center to help increase the number of OCD support groups across the state of New Hampshire as well as the awareness surrounding these resources. Mountain Valley hosts a parent support group for middle and high school-aged children suffering from OCD and anxiety disorders in Portsmouth, NH. Dr. Elizabeth Ellis Ohr, a psychologist in private practice and president of OCD NH, Dr. Szu-Hui Lee, psychologist at Phillips Exeter Academy and vice-president of OCD NH, and Don Vardell, executive director of Mountain Valley and OCD NH board member, will co-facilitate the group in Portsmouth. Meetings will be held the first Monday of the month from 6:00–7:30pm at the Portsmouth High School in Room 234 October through June. The group will be help at Portsmouth Public Library July through September. Additionally, a support group facilitated by Mary Given OCD NH board member, convenes at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH the third Thursday of every month from 7-8:30. A third support group is in the works for Hanover, NH where a group of Dartmouth College students and local clinicians have expressed a need for a support structure in that area.
