Narrative of Services:

Emerald Psychotherapy is a private practice in Lincoln, Nebraska, specializing in OCD. About 70% of my caseload is OCD-focused. I offer individual ERP-based therapy for adolescents (16+) and adults, in person with case-by-case telehealth. Beginning in 2027, I will offer Lincoln’s only OCD skills group, a 12-week closed-cohort ERP group. I also provide OCD trainings for professionals, including a CE-approved foundations training, and gender-affirming care readiness assessments.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I treat OCD alongside ADHD, anxiety disorders, autism, and eating disorders. OCD rarely shows up alone, so I assess how conditions interact and build one integrated plan rather than treating them in isolation. ERP remains the core, adapted as needed: added structure and executive functioning supports for ADHD, a neurodiversity-affirming approach that separates autistic traits from compulsions, and DBT skills for emotion regulation. I pace exposures around mood stability and coordinate with prescribers, dietitians, and medical providers. If someone needs a higher level of care, I help them find it.

Training Description:

I am a PLMHP and PCMSW (MSW, Nebraska Wesleyan University) practicing under the supervision of a licensed independent mental health practitioner, and anticipate to receive my full independent licensure (LIMHP) in January 2027. I have about 2 years of experience treating OCD using ERP, ACT, and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT). I have received training through NOCD Academy and the OCD Training School and participated in regular clinical consultation with Jeff Szymanski, the former president of IOCDF. I also co-developed and co-facilitate OCD trainings for Nebraska providers.

Diversity Statement:

As a queer clinician, I offer LGBTQIA+ affirming OCD care, including sexual orientation and gender-related obsessions. I developed a group curriculum for caregivers of trans youth, served as LGBTQIA+ chair on a youth agency’s DEI committee, trained educators on LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and direct youth programming for my city’s pride organization. I also provide gender-affirming surgery readiness assessments. I approach ERP through an anti-colonial, neurodiversity-affirming lens, considering how culture, faith, identity, and systemic oppression shape how OCD shows up and what meaningful recovery looks like for each person.
