Pediatric BTTI in Los Angeles, CA

The Pediatric Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) is an in-depth three-day intensive training course in cognitive behavior therapy for mental health professionals who treat children and adolescents with OCD and related disorders. Training Cost

The cost of registration for all three days is $450, which includes the cost of continuing education credits.

BTTI Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to design and implement cognitive behavioral interventions for youth with OCD, particularly exposure and response prevention.

  1. Participants will be able to incorporate family members into cognitive behavioral interventions for youth with OCD.
  2. Participants will be able to discuss the role of pharmacotherapy in the treatment of pediatric OCD and will be able to list agents used in its treatment.
  3. Participants will understand and be able to discuss the clinical presentation and nature of PANDAS and PANS.
  4. Participants will be able to implement behavioral systems and utilize Motivational Interviewing techniques and other strategies to foster motivation and treatment engagement for youth with OCD and related disorders.
  5. Participants will be able to personalize treatment protocols to address commonly comorbid conditions in children and teens.
  6. Participants will be able to design and implement treatment plans for youth with comorbid obsessive compulsive-related disorders.
  7. Participants will develop a thorough treatment plan for a past or current child or adolescent patient under the supervision of one of the Expert Speakers and along with 5 (or fewer) other participants.

Continuing Education

This program is sponsored by the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), Inc. The International OCD Foundation has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6821. Course meets the qualifications for 21 hours of continuing education credit for MFCCs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider #PCE 4422). This program is approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Provider #886509959) for 21 continuing education contact hours. IOCDF is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. IOCDF maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Course meets the qualifications for 21 CE credits for psychologists.

Attendance Requirements

Trainees must attend all three days of the BTTI in order to receive a CE certificate. Trainees must also complete three follow-up phone calls with a designated BTTI faculty member in order to be considered a graduate of this program and to receive a certificate of completion. Additionally, if you are not currently a professional member of the IOCDF, you must become a professional member in order to register for this training. Professional membership is $125 per person, per year. We will look up your membership status upon receiving your application, and will automatically add the additional $125 fee onto the $450 BTTI registration fee when we register you for the training if you do not have a current professional membership. If you will be paying by check and are not a professional member of the IOCDF, you will be asked to send in an additional $125 to cover your professional membership fee. Directions to UCLA

Please take the San Diego Freeway (405), either North or South, to the Wilshire Blvd East exit.   Travel East on Wilshire and turn left (North) onto Westwood Blvd.  As you cross the intersection of Westwood and Le Conte Avenue, you are entering the UCLA campus.  Turn left at the first light after Le Conte into the Medical Plaza complex.  Follow the turnaround into the underground parking lot.

Parking is provided at the Medical Plaza.  Cost is $11.00 per entry.

UCLA DirectionsFrom the parking structure, take the elevator to Level 1 (Lobby) of 200 Medical Plaza.  Walk through the 200 Medical Plaza building and exit the building, where you will return to surface streets and head toward Westwood Plaza.

Once you’re back on Westwood Plaza by foot, you will see Semel Institute/Neuropsychology Institute, a large brick building, directly across Westwood Plaza from UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center.  The sign in front of the building will read “Semel Institute for Neuroscience – 740.”  Please enter through the automatic sliding doors, and follow the arrows to the “H” elevators.  Take the elevators up to the 6th Floor, take a right when you get off the elevators, and walk straight through until you see room 67-416.
