Flexibility Within Fidelity: Adapting Evidence-Based OCD Treatments to Client Factors
An advanced training event exploring treatment adaptations based on client factors and intersectional identities (race, culture, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, neurodiversity, comorbidities, religion, perinatal factors, etc.)
Friday, October 25 – Sunday, October 27, 2024
Toronto, Ontario
The Advanced Forum is a three-day event organized by the IOCDF to enhance the clinical skills of mental health professionals who have attended a Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) or a similar level of training. Attendees should feel comfortable diagnosing and assessing OCD and providing evidence-based treatment including Exposure and Response Prevention.
While BTTIs are kept small to enhance learning and promote a comfortable environment to learn a new treatment modality, the revamped Advanced Forum is significantly larger (expected attendance 200), providing an opportunity to connect with other professionals treating OCD and the leaders in the field.
Along with lectures, Advanced Forums include Q&A panels, case presentations and live consultation from experts on select cases submitted by attendees.
Each Advanced Forum focus on a specific topic of interest, to deepen the practice of clinicians who are comfortable treating OCD and related disorders.
Examples from previous years' topics include:
401 – Treatment engagement, ambivalence, and resistance in OCD (2015)
402 – Working with OCD-related disorders and co-occurring conditions (2017)
403 - Promoting Treatment Engagement in OCD-Related Disorders (2018)
The Advanced Forum returns October 25 – 27, 2024 in Toronto, ON!
