Haley Byers PhD, DBSM
I work at an OCD and anxiety speciality clinic and approximately 50% of my clients have OCD. Our clinic offers individual and group treatment options and clinicians meet weekly to consult.
In addition to working with trauma / PTSD and other anxiety disorders, I am board certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine and help individuals with sleep issues such as insomnia, chronic nightmares, circadian rhythm sleep disorders, and difficulty tolerating positive airway pressure (PAP) for sleep apnea.
Beginning in graduate school, I received solid training in CBT and mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies for a variety of issues. I increased my focus on treating OCD and related disorders in the past two years. In addition to attending workshops and group consultation, I have engaged in regular individual consultation for the past year with a psychologist who is an OCD expert and long-standing, active member of IOCDF.
I received multicultural/diversity training throughout my doctoral program and on my APA approved internship. I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations while at the VA and while working at a large healthcare system in the Atlanta area. This includes culturally and racially diverse individuals, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with varied socioeconomic statuses. I continuously seek out consultation to ensure I am competent and compassionate when working with those who have different lived experiences than my own.
