Lisa A. Conway PhD, ABPP
I almost exclusively see adult clients with OCD and BFRBs, including those with a trauma history that impacts their symptoms. I work with individual adult clients in an outpatient setting, and value coordination of care with other providers and supports. I also participate in, and coordinate, multiple OCD/BFRB/exposure consultation groups to remain active in training and collaboration with colleagues and our local, and national, treatment community.
The core of my clinical training is in CBT and evidence-based practices for anxiety, OCD and trauma. I have done this work for over 10 years, and continue to learn and practice other approaches (e.g., ACT, Inference-Based CBT) to help with creating a more accepting, flexible and engaging approach to this work. I greatly enjoy working with my OCD and BFRB clients, and find that telepsychology makes treatment even more accessible and effective, and appreciate the creativity it brings into our work together.
I strongly value ongoing consultation and training regarding diversity and equity, and appreciate learning about adaptations to improve the therapeutic experience for clients from a range of backgrounds. I seek out continuing education experiences that highlight diversity, including race, sexuality, gender and age, in order to further the work clients and I can do together. I feel comfortable talking to clients about their unique backgrounds and lived experiences, and discussing adaptations to treatment that can maximize effectiveness for them.
