I offer affirming, culturally responsive care for individuals and couples and specialize in research based interventions for trauma, mood disorders, and OCD. Approximately 20% of my clinical work is focused on OCD and I-CBT. I find I-CBT to be particularly effective for OCD and clients share improved quality of life and hope for the future with this treatment. I work collaboratively to empower each client, drawing on evidence-based approaches tailored to their goals.
I often treat co-occurring PTSD, neurodivergence, and mood disorders. We first engage with an intake process where we do a thorough assessment to determine the driver of your most impactful symptoms. We then apply this information to a treatment plan where we can address each driver. I have additional certifications in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD.
I received my PhD from the University of Montana. My doctoral internship was completed with VA Portland Healthcare System and postdoctoral residency at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. I have attended multiple trainings on OCD, including those focused on research based interventions and cultural considerations
I deeply value providing cultural affirmative therapy and understanding your values when starting our work together. I have dedicated much of my personal and professional life to addressing oppression and the majority of my client’s identify with one or more oppressed identity (e.g., LGBTQ+, disabilities, neurodivergence, trans and non-binary, race + ethnicity, immigration status, non-monogamy, incarceration). I believe good therapy must consider how a client’s positioning influences how the world interacts with them, and how a client is given contextual permission to interact with the world, their well-being, and healing.
