Narrative of Services:

At my practice, approximately 40% of my current caseload is being treated for some form of OCD. I have treated numerous patients with OCD over the course of my professional career. In addition to OCD, I currently am using exposure and response-prevention for the majority of my patients, and have treated all different types of anxiety conditions through this modality.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

Any co-occurring conditions would be evaluated to determine how they are affecting OCD. I try to ensure that the co-occurring conditions are stable in order to proceed with exposure and response prevention. If not, then work is done to better manage those conditions. The other conditions would also be closely monitored throughout the treatment process.

Training Description:

I have been treating patients with OCD for 9 years in private practice settings. My doctoral training was firmly rooted in CBT for various mental health and medical conditions. I worked at the Capital Institute for Cognitive Therapy for 8 years, first as a post-doctoral fellow and then as a licensed psychologist. During that time, I was trained by experts in exposure and response-prevention for OCD and other anxiety disorders. I continue to consult multiple times a month with peers who specialize in treating OCD and other anxiety disorders.

Diversity Statement:

I am always working to educate myself on working with patients from various cultural backgrounds. I complete continuing education courses annually that focus on cultural competence. I have had the pleasure of working with a diverse group of patients in my career, which has allowed me the opportunity to learn the importance of incorporating the many parts of a patient’s identity into the conceptualization and treatment.
