Utilize Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) which involves gradually and intentionally facing situations, thoughts, or images that trigger anxiety (exposure) while resisting the urge to engage in compulsive behaviors or avoidance (response prevention). Over time, repeated exposures teach the brain that the feared outcome is unlikely or manageable, allowing individuals to tolerate distress without relying on compulsions.
